Hi, I'm JYN (it's an acronym pronounced [jin]) Star. I have been interested in
the occult (hidden) sciences since I was a teenager. Perpetually seeking out
texts on tarot, myth, and magic, slowly weaving the occult into my
daily practices...
I transitioned out of high school and into college at Penn State
(the University Park campus), and enjoyed a four year college life, where I
studied psychology, finally settling into a program in Human Development. After
earning a B.S., I transitioned into a career in social services where I worked
as a Family Advocate at a Head Start program for three years. While there, I
also attended Montclair State University full-time earning my Master's in
Education, followed by a stint as a student teacher, after which I worked for a
prominent New York City charter school in Harlem.
Meanwhile, I
continued to study and grow spiritually by dabbling in things like yoga,
meditation, Tarot, Astrology, natural magic, and delving into the world of myth,
folklore, and fairytales. I moved away from teaching, mainly because of the
trajectory of my husband's career, and entered into an introspective three year
period, where I withdrew from the workforce to study, research, blog, and
write. I formed my brand and blog Nereids'
Enchantments, began writing a series of novels, and started to really focus
on symbolism, the collective unconscious, the archetypes of myth, and how they
have been reinforced throughout literature and art time and again.
Feng Shui entered my life while I set up my first post college apartment 6 years ago. It is a skill that fit perfectly with my other interests like gardening and aromatherapy. I started to slowly employ Feng Shui in all of my homes, getting better at clearing and object placement with each move...and since I am now offering my services as a Tarot Card Reader, I decided to also offer Feng Shui consultations, since it is a personal interest and skill. Social Work (with a case load of 40, teaching, and graduate school all served to make me an expert organizer, let me put me skills to work for you!) We will clear your space, add objects and crystals, and organize the environment...increasing your productivity, creativity, and wealth.
